The historic Perthshire town of Alyth is a picturesque town situated on the Alyth burn located 62 miles north of Edinburgh and 442 miles north of London. The town straddles the burn which bears it name. Most of the town lies in a shallow, sheltered basin around 330 feet (100 meters) above sea-level, nestled under the Hill of Alyth (970 feet or 295 meters) which is part of the southern edge of the Perthshire Highlands.
The beautiful Perthshire countryside provides a wide variety of walks around Alyth, with more adventurous routes available in Strathardle, Glenshee and Glenisla, approximately 30 minutes by car.
